Abstract

Pemberian ASI bermanfaat untuk mencegah kematian dan kekurangan gizi pada bayi.
ASI eksklusif mencegah kematian akibat diare dan ISPA. Karakteristik ibu (usia, pendidikan,
pekerjaan dan paritas) dapat mempengaruhi keberhasilan pemberian ASI eksklusif. Penelitian
bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran karakteristik ibu menyusui dalam pemberian ASI
eksklusif di Puskesmas Umbulharjo I Yogyakarta. Jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan
pendekatan cross sectional, pengambilan sampling secara purposive dengan jumlah sampel 55
orang ibu yang menyusui. Data penelitian menggunakan data sekunder dengan bantuan
instrument berupa lembar observasi. Analisa data secara univariat, hasil disajikan dalam bentuk
distribusi frekuensi. Karakteristik ibu menyusui dalam pemberian ASI eksklusif berdasarkan
pekerjaan yaitu sebagian besar ibu yang bekerja 37 responden (67,3%), sebagian besar
pendidikan SMA 27 responden (49,1%), sebagian besar dalam kategori resiko tinggi 35 tahun
(61,8%), dan sebagian besar memiliki paritas (primipara) sebanyak 21 responden (38,2%).
Sebagian besar ibu yang menyusui dalam pemberian ASI eksklusif di Puskesmas Umbulharjo
I dikarenakan pekerjaan ibu termasuk kategori ibu bekerja.
Breastfeeding is useful for preventing infant mortality and malnutrition. Exclusive
breastfeeding prevents deaths from diarrhea and ARI. Mother's characteristics (age, education,
occupation and parity) can affect the success of exclusive breastfeeding. This study aims to
describe the characteristics of breastfeeding mothers in exclusive breastfeeding at the
Umbulharjo I Health Center Yogyakarta. This type of research is descriptive with a cross
sectional approach, purposive sampling with a sample of 55 mothers who are breastfeeding.
The research data used secondary data with the help of an instrument in the form of an
observation sheet. Univariate data analysis, the results are presented in the form of a frequency
distribution. The characteristics of breastfeeding mothers in exclusive breastfeeding based on
occupation are that most of the working mothers are 37 respondents (67.3%), the majority of
high school education are 27 respondents (49.1%), most of them are in the high risk category
of 35 years (61.8% ), and most of them have parity (primipara) as many as 21 respondents
(38.2%). Most of the mothers who breastfeed in exclusive breastfeeding at the Umbulharjo I
Health Center because the mother's work is included in the category of working mothers.
